We Contacted Hutchison Arboriculture in relation to the construction of a new house on our family farm. Owen advised us of the arboricultural survey and reports that we would require to support our planning application. Working alongside our planning consultant, Owen conducted his survey and produced his reports in a timely and professional manner. When the local planning authority requested additional information around proposed mitigative planting, Owen was able to produce a detailed planting scheme for submission. Our planning application has now been approved and work on the house has begun.

I first met Owen in 2016 while he was working for Geosynthetics and providing me with training for their Cellweb (no-dig) tree protection system. Our professional relationship has further developed over the years since he moved into independent consultancy. In 2018 he became a highly valued associate of my practice, carrying out surveys and producing expert arboricultural reports for various clients including English Heritage. Owen is a breath of fresh air, conducting himself with professionalism, efficiency and humility - I can’t recommend him highly enough.
Girlguiding Gloucestershire were impressed with the tree hazard and management survey done for us by Hutchison Arboriculture. The survey was thorough, clear and exceptionally helpful to us, highlighting what actions needed to be taken and the priorities. The aerial photos were very useful. We have now actioned the priority work.
Owen has worked as a sub-consultant for, and associate consultant arboriculturist to, B J Unwin Forestry Consultancy Ltd. on a regular basis since 2017. During that time Owen has proved himself a highly competent tree consultant. Owen’s specialty has been liaising with English Heritage staff and contractors on a five-year tree safety inspection contract on all of its sites from Cornwall to Cheshire. He deals with all clients in a professional and friendly way, carries out accurate tree surveys and inspections, has a good knowledge of tree defects and diseases, and provides readable and accurate reports. I have no reservations in recommending Owen’s tree-consultancy services to any domestic or commercial tree owner, architect or developer.
