If you are the owner of a tree or trees subject to a tree preservation order (TPO), you are required to make an application to your local planning authority (LPA) for any proposed tree work (though certain works may be exempt).
If you are a tree owner within a conservation area, you are required to provide the LPA with six weeks notification of proposed tree work (A Section 211 notice). Within the six weeks notification period the LPA can either confirm that they are happy with the proposed tree work, issue a TPO or allow the six weeks to elapse. The proposed tree works may proceed after six weeks has elapsed.
We can advise you on the management of protected trees and make the relevant applications or notifications on your behalf.
